Does this sound like you?
→ You constantly feel "on-call", even though you're not a clinical leader
→ Guilt that you're missing something important, whether you are at work or at home.
→ Feeling exhausted & emotionally drained from constant problem solving & fire fighting (call-outs! upset patients! too many competing priorities from physician and executive leadership!)
→ Feeling like you should have all the answers (after all, you ARE in the leadership seat & you have the title, tenure, & experience)
→Despite your experience, you still struggle with self-doubt, imposter syndrome, or questioning your ability to lead in a complex environment
→Balancing demands of physician leaders, board members, co-workers, staff, and vendors - often with competing priorities
->You carry the weight of making critical decisions that impact patient care, financial outcomes, and staff morale
→You crave a safe, confidential space to share challenges, brainstorm solutions, and work through your toughest leadership moments

Here's the truth:
Traditional Leadership Development & Coaching Doesn't Work
One-and-done Lunch and Learns or workshops through work are nice, but what happens after? Do you know how (or if!) to implement the learning?
Traditional Coaches focus on WHAT you do at work, not WHO you are in and out of the office. And you are a whole person and deserve support that allows you to thrive around the boardroom table and the dinner table.
More than that, traditional leadership development and coaching are not industry specific, meaning they miss the nuance (the urgency, the staffing challenges, the organizational complexity) that working in healthcare requires.
You work in a mission-driven industry and deserve to partner with a professional who has been there and has also dedicated her career to that same industry.

Meet your coach
Hi, I'm Vicki
Hi, I am Vicki, and I am an executive coach, leadership consultant, and founder of The Defined Leader. I help leaders, in healthcare, consultancies, Fortune 500s, and non-profits—overcome self-doubt, develop unshakable confidence, and lead with clarity and impact.
My Mission
I know firsthand the challenges that come with being a high-achieving woman in a demanding industry. The pressure to perform, the burden of imposter syndrome, and the constant push to balance work and life can feel overwhelming.
I started my career as a Medical Record Clerk, carrying heavy paper charts from dark medical records rooms to impatiently waiting post-op physicians. After years of work, and getting an MBA in Healthcare Administration, I eventually became a Director of Finance at a large academic medical center. During my journey, I learned how to build a team, how to fail (like the time I was almost fired), how to speak up, how to be a working Mom (two maternity leaves later), and so so much more.
I created The Defined Leader—to provide coaching, mentorship, and leadership development specifically designed for women navigating the complexities of leadership.

Amy landed a VP after being stuck as an Assistant Director for years
"I honestly thought that I had to be an AD forever. It was fine, but I was bored. I also didn't want to rock the boat because I had two small kids at home and work life balance is super important to me. Vicki helped me learn ways to lead my team more effectively, which not only made me less busy, it made the senior leadership of my company recognize me and promote me!"

Caitlin used her skills to land a role in a new to her industry
"I've always wanted to work in marketing, but thought that my data analyst skills would disqualify me from other roles. With Vicki's guidance, I learned how to network internally and position myself for a role within my dream part of the organization! I am so glad I took a chance on myself"
